Jungle and MO4 are combining their expertise and technologies to support their mutual partner, North Star Shipping, in its mission to deliver the most competitive vessels in the offshore industry.
North Star is a UK-based company with 135 years of experience and is recognised for its safety, innovation, and efficiency. Providing permanent mission-critical offshore infrastructure support and leveraging advanced vessels requires operational excellence to ensure exceptional aid in a challenging environment. North Star chose to apply Jungle’s AI-driven monitoring solutions for tracking component health to improve vessel performance and minimise downtime, alongside MO4’s weather downtime decision support and data analytics systems on their new series of Grampian Service Operations Vessels.
The partnership is key to ensuring North Star Shipping stays at the forefront of innovation in the offshore sector by digitalising its fleet and significantly reducing technical and weather-related downtime.
Back in July, Canopy, Jungle’s AI-driven solution flagged a developing issue in the Grampian Tyne, one of North Star’s vessels, before any traditional alarms were triggered. Thanks to the early warning, their team identified and replaced the faulty components, preventing a potential critical failure, and avoiding downtime and losses of over £100k for North Star.
In parallel, MO4’s data analytics software allows North Star to assess the performance of its Grampian vessels and Daughter crafts. Customised KPIs highlight areas where the vessels meet expectations, as well as pinpoint areas with potential for improvement. By leveraging Automatic Identification System-related KPIs, North Star can benchmark its fleet against industry competitors, identifying areas of overperformance or underperformance. This detailed, data-driven analysis equips North Star teams with insights to optimise their operational strategy, maximising both fleet efficiency and output.
The combined approach is now being applied to North Star’s entire SOV fleet, where digitalisation and smart monitoring using Jungle and MO4’s solutions are driving operational efficiency to new heights.
